Installation Guide CMS
Designed & implemented a low cost solution for scaling user facing guided content.
Initially a scrappy side project, the resulting system allowed the company to deliver a product-specific interactive experience that would scale to fit the future vision of the company.
Showing the relationship between code and interface: iterating through screen and button variations.
The Challenge
Improve our current static installation guide experience by keeping users inside the app's setup flow.
The Solution
I ended up creating a custom declarative interface generation system, allowing for language translations & infinite new product support to accommodate a merger.
The Impact
Reduced customer support calls, immediate response to changing installation needs, minimal increase in cost.
This project began before an international merger that would expand our product portfolio exponentially. Initially the goal was to improve the experience over our current PDF & printed installation guides. Post-merger, I retooled my system to support language translations and securely scale to a near infinite number of products.
